During my internship at GEO-Instruments I got to design a camera mount for an Automated Motorized Total station (AMTS). This mount enhances safety in the field by eliminating the need of having to look through the scope(s) of the instrument, which proves hazardous when the instrument is installed over parapets or on tall poles. This mount allows for a wi-fi camera to be securely clipped into it and allows the engineer to safely teach an AMTS the location of far-away prisms by viewing the feed from the camera on a wireless device.
